Bhumtham Yet to Consider Anwar’s Mediation Offer in BRN Talks

Bangkok: “Bhumtham” has not yet considered “Anwar’s” offer to be a mediator in talks with BRN. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who is currently acting as Prime Minister, addressed the current status of the Southern Border Provinces Peace Dialogue Team. He mentioned that the team has not been appointed yet, raising questions about why inquiries are being made prematurely.

According to Thai News Agency, when questioned again about Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s proposal to mediate discussions with the Barisal Revolutionary Front of the Malays (BRN), Mr. Phumtham stated that he has not given it consideration yet. Following this, he proceeded directly to the Ministry of Interior’s office.
