BPJS Kesehatan optimizing online queue service use in Aceh

Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) – Health Social Security Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) is working to optimize the utilization of an online queue service that has been integrated with health facilities in Aceh to provide quick and efficient health access to members.

The online queue service has been provided to help National Health Insurance (JKN) members take a queue number through the mobile JKN application before going to the hospital, BPJS Kesehatan official Lily Kresnowati explained.

With the advancement in technology, public services are being pushed to continue to innovate. Currently, everything is being done digitally through smartphones, she noted in a statement issued on Saturday.

“Technology should be utilized to provide convenience and assurance in public service,” she added.

The trouble with taking queue numbers at hospitals is that members have to punch in their JKN and identity card numbers (NIK), which has become a source of complaint, according to Kresnowati.

This step is not needed when taking a queue number through the mobile JKN application as the JKN card number and NIK would already be filled, she informed.

People can even choose the polyclinic that they are headed to at the hospitals without having to bring a referral letter since it is integrated with the mobile JKN, she added.

In addition to expediting the registration time and patients’ waiting time, the goal of utilizing the digital service is to facilitate the administration process at hospitals to alleviate the burden on hospital workers.

Therefore, hospitals in Aceh are being asked to help disseminate information on the utilization of the online queue service to members, especially in Sabang, which, given its status as a tourism destination, attracts foreign nationals.

“In accordance with the regulation, after at least six months of working in Indonesia, these people must be registered as JKN members. This is the moment to continue to improve quality and services,” Kresnowati remarked.
