Breaking up isn’t over yet! Ex-husband cuts in front of car, shoots new husband, injures him

An ex-husband did not stop after being separated for 2 years. He cut in front of her car and shouted at her to get out and talk before turning around and pulling out a gun in the car and shooting her new husband, who was injured.

Last evening (23 August), officers from Ra Bae Pai Police Station received a report of a shooting in Tambon Hua Wa, Amphoe Si Maha Phot, Prachin Buri Province. They rushed to the scene and found Mr. Boon Song, 42 years old, an employee of a factory, who had been shot in the left wrist and injured. Rescue workers rushed the injured man to Si Maha Phot Hospital for initial medical treatment.

From the inquiry, Ms. Kanathip said that she was going to work. Her ex-husband, Mr. Apichai, whom she had separated from 2-3 years ago, came across her as she was turning into her house. Mr. Apichai drove around and followed her, cutting in front of her car to let her park. So she stopped her car and rolled down the window to ask, “What do you want? Isn’t it over yet?” Mr. Apichai replied, “What
did you do to me? Get out.” Then he went to grab a gun from the car. Her boyfriend rushed to grab the gun, but was shot in the left wrist.

Later, Mr. Aphichai (the perpetrator) went to surrender himself at the police station, bringing with him the gun used in the incident, a homemade 9 mm. gun with one bullet still in the chamber. The officers took him in for questioning, which took more than 3 hours.

Mr. Apichai said that he intended to go to clear up the old problem because he felt haunted by it and before that, his ex-wife had never agreed to talk to him and had always made excuses. As for the motive that happened this time, he was talking to his ex-wife when suddenly her new husband walked out. He was shocked and ran back to the car, grabbed the gun before there was a struggle, causing the gun to go off and hit the injured person’s hand. He insisted that he did not intend to fire the bullet, he only wanted to scare her.

Initially, the authorities charged Mr. Aphichai (the perpetrator) with assaulting o
thers with a firearm and carrying a firearm in a public place or in a village and will take the perpetrator to court.
