Bangkok: The Cabinet has announced the appointment of several high-ranking officials, including the designation of Chayanan Phakdijit as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Ms. Sasikan Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, confirmed the decision, which aims to fill the vacant position at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with Ms. Phakdijit, who previously served as Secretary-General of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning.
According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet has also made significant appointments within other ministries. Six civil servants have been appointed to key positions within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Ms. Narumon Sangwanwong, Mr. Kris Uttamawetin, and Ms. Tasanee Muangkaew have been appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretaries. Ms. Anchalee Suwajittanon has been promoted to Director-General of the Sericulture Department, Mr. Anon Nonsi to Director-General of the Rice Department, and Mr. Niran Multhida to Director-General of the Cooperative Promotion Department, all effective from October 1, 2025.
At the Ministry of Commerce, four senior positions have been filled in response to retirements and internal rotations. Ms. Jittima Srithaporn has been named Deputy Permanent Secretary, while Ms. Aromon Sapphathawitham takes over as Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property. Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn has been appointed as Director-General of the Department of Business Development, and Mr. Nantapong Jiralertphong will lead the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy, with these changes also taking effect on October 1, 2025.
The Cabinet has additionally approved appointments within political ranks. Mr. Wichian Suksoi is now the Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. In the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Sarawut Onlamai has been appointed as an advisor to the Deputy Minister, and Mr. Montree Panoyont will serve as assistant secretary to the Minister of Interior. Meanwhile, Mr. Thitiphan Chuchanchot has been named Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Public Health, acting in coordination with Mr. Anucha Sasomsap, the Deputy Minister of Public Health.
