Chanthaburi: Thousands of Cambodians are still flocking back to their country, waiting to cross the border. The Cambodian exodus situation has entered its fourth day, with approximately 1,000 migrant workers still waiting to cross the border, crowding the Ban Laem checkpoint in Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province.
According to Thai News Agency, at the permanent border crossing at Ban Laem Market in Thep Ninit Subdistrict, Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, Cambodians continue to return home for the fourth day following clashes between Thailand and Cambodia in three northeastern border provinces. Approximately 1,000 Cambodians and their belongings are scattered around Ban Laem Market, spilling all the way to the border checkpoint. They were stranded after the Thai border closed at 3:00 PM yesterday (July 27).
Another group of people are gradually arriving and waiting to return to their country throughout the night. Officials are maintaining peace and order, as well as organizing the flow of Cambodians to return to their country as quickly as possible.
