Aranyaprathet: Soldiers have apprehended a group of Cambodian nationals who illegally entered Thailand through a natural passage, seeking employment opportunities. The group, consisting of three men, two women, and one boy, was intercepted by soldiers from the Burapha Task Force, Aranyaprathet Task Force, and the 12th Ranger Regiment control unit while patrolling the Thai-Cambodian border near Ban Phu Nam Kliang, Pa Rai Subdistrict, Sa Kaeo Province.
According to Thai News Agency, upon being stopped, the group was found to be in possession of only a single border pass and lacked any legal foreign worker registration documents. The Cambodians revealed that they had previously worked as shoe washers in Rong Kluea Market but were forced to return to Cambodia due to a lack of income. Facing dire circumstances in their home country, they attempted to re-enter Thailand in search of work, paying guides 4,000 baht each to facilitate their crossing from Ban Silakham, Cambodia, into Thailand.
Following their arrest, the individuals were handed over to investigators at the Khlong Luek Police Station for legal proceedings, after which they will be deported back to Cambodia.
