Chaloem Phra Kiat District: An SUV veered off the curve and flew over the median strip in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province. The driver fled the scene, but was shocked to find 3.2 million methamphetamine pills in the car.
According to Thai News Agency, last night at 9:30 PM, officers received a report of an SUV accident where it lost control, swerved off the curve, climbed the traffic island, and crossed the road to the other side. This caused the car to be damaged and rendered it unable to be driven any further. The accident occurred on Na Phra Lan Road, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province. A red Chevrolet with a Bangkok license plate was found crashing into the mountainside of the road, with the car damaged and three tires blown out.
Initial investigation found no driver, who is believed to have fled. Inside the vehicle were eight black fertilizer sacks covered with a cloth behind the driver. Police from Na Phra Lan Police Station inspected the vehicle and discovered 3.2 million methamphetamine pills in the sacks. Additionally, they found two .380 automatic handguns with a full magazine of ammunition, chambered and ready to fire, two mobile phones, and a wallet.
After the incident, Pol. Col. Kesada Wacharanon, Deputy Commander of the Saraburi Provincial Police, along with the Saraburi Provincial Police Investigation Unit, went to the area to hunt down the perpetrators. The investigation unit was tasked with reviewing cameras and finding witnesses who knew about the scene to ask them for initial questioning.
Rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation in front of Phra Lan informed reporters about their suspicions that the driver was unfamiliar with the road and that it was quite dark, leading him to miss the curve and fly over the median to the other side. The vehicle was damaged, with three flat tires. Inside the car, they discovered sacks of drugs. Upon their arrival, they did not find the driver. Initially, a villager drove past and saw the driver, who asked the villager for a ride, but the villager did not accommodate him, leading to the driver’s disappearance.
