Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has said that he will provide support to local governments for developing local public radio and television broadcasting agencies for the community’s benefit.
“This government’s support can be in the form of managerial training and budget if the local radio or television is owned by the local government. In addition, human resource support from the local government is needed to run the organization well,” Pranowo informed when opening the “4th National Deliberation of All Indonesia Regional Public TV Radio Association (Persada.id)” here on Tuesday.
The Persada.id deliberation will cover four main topics: organization, institution, human resources, and the development of broadcasting innovation, he said.
Broadcasting innovation is related to ways to adapt to current developments in providing information to the public, he explained.
“It is hoped that this deliberation can (help us) formulate the common goal. I hope solutions will emerge from the issues,” he said.
For developing broadcasting innovation, Pranowo, who is also the Persada.id chairperson, urged local radio and television agencies to become multi-platform as they are facing several big challenges.
According to him, multi-platform radio and television can reach a wider audience, not only radio lovers but also young people.
“Young people already listen to digital radio, and it is already multi-platform. After broadcasting, (news) can actually be channeled through social media, so the public can get information from anywhere. It must be contemporary, and the interaction space for young people must be provided,” he explained.
He said that he will support and assist in the development of multi-platform radio and TV.
