Bangkok: Central Pattana has officially denied recent news reports and clarified its shareholding status in Dusit Thani Public Company Limited. The company aims to address misunderstandings related to its investment policy and shareholding in Dusit Thani.
According to Thai News Agency, Central Pattana has been a strategic partner and co-investor with Dusit Thani in the Dusit Central Park project since 2017, with a total investment of over 20 billion baht. The project, which includes hotel and office buildings already in operation, is set to see the Central Park shopping center open on September 4, 2025.
Central Pattana currently holds 145,238,320 shares in Dusit Thani, representing 17.09 percent of the company's total shares, a stake it has maintained since 2018. Central Pattana emphasizes that it respects the management decisions of Dusit's major shareholder and has consistently supported the company's operations.
Central Pattana was recently proposed to nominate a representative as a director at Dusit Thani's shareholders' meeting. This nomination was viewed as an opportunity to leverage the nominee's expertise for the continued growth of Dusit Thani's operations. The company highlighted that director nominations are based on proportional shareholding and do not imply control over Dusit's management decisions.
Central Pattana underscores its commitment to operating under good governance principles, aligning with the guidelines of a listed company on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The management of Dusit Thani is led by its major shareholder group, Chanat and Sons Co., Ltd. Central Pattana confirms that it is not involved in the decision-making processes of Chanat and Sons Co., Ltd.
