Chaba Kaew Triumphs with 7-0 Victory Against Iraq in 2026 Asian Women’s Cup

Chiang mai: Chaba Kaew crushed Iraq 7-0, winning 2 consecutive matches in the 2026 Asian Women’s Cup qualifiers.

According to Thai News Agency, in the 2026 Asian Women’s Cup Qualifying Round, Group B, held at the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium, Chiang Mai Province, the Thai national team, known as “Chaba Kaew”, displayed a dominant performance. Having defeated Timor-Leste 4-0 in their opening game, Thailand faced Iraq, who previously drew with Timor-Leste 0-0 and defeated Mongolia 5-2.

During the first half, the Thai women’s team established a 3-0 lead with goals from Wiranya Kaewnakasikham in the 13th minute, Pichitthida Manowang in the 36th minute, and Panitha Jiratanaphibun, who scored in the 45+3rd minute.

In the second half, Thailand extended their lead by scoring 4 additional goals. Kanchanatat Phumsi netted twice, including a penalty in the 65th minute, while Wiranya Kaewkasikum completed her hat trick with goals in the 76th and 82nd minutes. The decisive win over Iraq allowed the Thai women’s team to collect 6 points from 2 matches. Meanwhile, in the other match of the group, India defeated Timor-Leste 4-0. The upcoming matches will see India face Iraq and Thailand take on Mongolia.
