Chachoengsao Stadium is Packed with Fans Cheering for “Mon Thong”

Chachoengsao: The Monthong fever continues after another stadium-shattering event in Chachoengsao Province in a special friendly football match between Monthong Wittaya and Boy Tha Phra Chan. A special football match between Monthong Wittaya School, the runners-up of the 7-a-side student football tournament, led by “Nong Tae” Warakorn Changkhiandee, “Nong Pom” Akkaranee Phusutsung, “Nong Nood” Suthipong, “Nong Lek” the team captain, and “Nong Thank You” Pannawat Phongbunyapat, riding in the same dream truck driven by Monthong coach Sakol Kliangprasert, met with the Boy Tha Phra Chan team, led by Boy Tha Phra Chan, a famous amulet expert, Dusakorn Thonglao, former captain of the Thai national team, Kritsada Wongkaew, Supawut Theunklang, two former Thai national futsal players, and famous artist Kong Huai Rai, took place at Chachoengsao Municipal Stadium. The match was attended by a full 5,400-seat capacity crowd, along with many more who were unable to attend.

According to Thai News Agency, at the start of the game, the Monthong team received a bonus of 170,000 baht if they scored a goal in the first 40 minutes. However, it was the Boy Tha Phra Chan team that took the lead 2-0 with goals from Kong Huai Rai in the 22nd minute and Ekkapoom Potharungroj, a former professional football player, in the 40th minute, which unfortunately caused the Monthong team to miss out on the prize money.

In the second half, Ajarn Sakon changed the game well and scored a goal to make it 1-2 from Suthipong Isara in the 47th minute, but the Boy Tha Phra Chan team extended their lead to 3-1 in the 78th minute.

At the end of the game, there was a cash prize injection. If the Monthong team scored, they would receive 240,000 baht. The Monthong team did so through Nattawut Homkhun in the 80+2 minute. The game ended with the Boy Tha Phra Chan team defeating the Monthong Witthaya School team 3-2.

Additionally, a football shirt from the Monthong Wittaya School team, signed by all the players, including the Tha Phrachan Boys’ team, was auctioned off. The auction closed at 320,000 baht. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Monthong Wittaya School players, with no deductions. This brings the total prize money from the shirt auction and goal-scoring bonuses from generous adults to 560,000 baht, which will go to Monthong Wittaya School.
