“Chadchart” reveals that the water situation in Bangkok is still not worrisome.

Chadchart’ revealed that the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok is not a cause for concern, but he is not being careless and is monitoring the situation and preparing to respond. As for the water from Chiang Mai, it does not directly affect Bangkok.

(October 6, 2024) Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, along with Mr. Atthaset Petchmisri, Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok, executives of the Drainage and Sewerage Department, the City Law Enforcement Department, and relevant personnel, went on a boat trip on the Chao Phraya River to inspect flood prevention readiness in the Bangkok area. The current overall water situation in Bangkok is not very worrying, but we are not complacent and are continuously monitoring the situation. As for the water from Chiang Mai, it does not directly affect the Bangkok area. We need to monitor the situation at this time to see if there will be rain between the Bhumibol Dam and the Chao Phraya Dam in the Kamphaeng Phet and Sukhothai areas. Because during this time, there has
been less rain in the Bangkok area and some days there is no rain at all, so it is not very worrying.

However, what needs to be watched especially is the period of 20-21 October 2024 because it is the period of high tide and high sea level. We need to see again how much water has been released from the north. We are not being careless. We are always prepared and watching, including draining water to prepare for the additional water. For the false teeth, additional sandbags will be placed. The areas that may be affected will be the 16 communities outside the embankment. Bangkok has prepared officials to help and solve the problem.
