Democrat Party leader not worried about ministers’ qualifications, asks to wait for resolution from executive committee-MP meeting, declines to answer whether “Chuan” has been cleared yet
Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, leader of the Democrat Party, left the party office after discussing with Mr. Decha-Ich Khaothong, the party secretary and party leader, and stated that he asked to wait until tomorrow after the meeting of MPs and the party’s executive committee. As for whether he was concerned about the qualifications, which were clearly stated in the invitation letter that people without prohibited qualifications should be selected as ministers, he confirmed that he was not worried at all and asked to wait for the meeting’s resolution first. It depends on the meeting’s resolution. Whatever is decided is decided.
As for concerns about qualifications, Mr. Chalermchai said it was okay, it was not our responsibility here. If it was over, it was over. It was as it could be.
When asked again whether he had checked his
personal qualifications, Mr. Chalermchai denied it, saying that no, he had someone check them.
When asked if he had spoken to Mr. Chuan Leekpai, Mr. Chalermchai declined to answer, saying only briefly, ‘See you tomorrow,’ before immediately closing the door and leaving the party office
