Chiang Rai’s water levels have receded, locals lament that this year has already seen 4 floods.

The water in Chiang Rai has receded, but some roads are still flooded. Meanwhile, locals lament that this year has already been flooded 4 times, while normally it only floods once a year.

The flood situation in Ban Du Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province has been improving continuously. At the traffic light intersection in front of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, the water level has decreased and returned to normal. Cars and motorcycles can use both sides of Phahonyothin Road as usual. However, in some areas, there is still water waiting to be drained, but it is still passable.

While the area of ??the Khua Krae traffic light intersection is still flooded, making travel difficult, the western bypass road is flooded from water flowing from Doi Pong Phrabat. Many small cars stopped at the red light had their engines out. Officials had to help push them out. The road heading to Mae Chan District is about 100 meters wide, with only one lane open. It is expected that within 1-2 hours, the water will
recede and return to normal.

While locals in the area revealed that this year they have been flooded 4 times, while every year they only get flooded once. This is because the water is coming from many directions. It is expected that in 2-3 days the water situation will return to normal.
