Phop phra: The commander of the Naresuan Army urgently visited the border area in Phop Phra District to closely monitor the situation following intensified clashes in Myanmar. Reports indicated a drone attack on a Myanmar military camp.
According to Thai News Agency, the Karen National Liberation Front (KNLA), an anti-government group in Myanmar, has employed drones to bomb the “Tee Ta Lae” base, located opposite Ban Wa Le Nuea in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, multiple times. In response, the Myanmar military used rifles. The extent of the damage remains unknown, and there are currently no reports of impacts on the Thai side.
Maj. Gen. Maitri Chupreecha, Commander of the Naresuan Force, visited Ban Waley and Ban Morkor Thai in Phop Phra District alongside senior military officers and district administration. The visit aimed to coordinate with security agencies and prepare a humanitarian response plan for the ongoing conflict near the border. Presently, 457 Myanmar refugees are residing in two temporary safe areas in Phop Phra District, receiving humanitarian aid through collaboration between the Border Command Center on the Myanmar side in Tak Province and the National Security Council’s guidelines.
Maj. Gen. Maitri stressed the importance of the Rajamanu Task Force and district administration increasing protection against foreign armed forces’ encroachment and ensuring the safety of local residents and their property around the clock. The Naresuan Forces reiterated that Thailand is not involved in the conflict and does not support any side in using Thai territory for their own purposes.
