Commerce Ministry accepts Prime Minister’s request to set up a war room to help flood victims


The Ministry of Commerce has accepted the Prime Minister’s request to set up a war room to help flood victims, and has sent relief bags and strictly controlled the prices of goods, prohibiting shortages and high prices.

Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, revealed that he has ordered the Ministry of Commerce to urgently help people affected by the flood situation in the northern part of Thailand, in accordance with the measures to take care of the people of Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, by setting up a special center to help flood victims, coordinating with business operators and provincial agencies in the affected areas to provide relief bags, and emphasizing the need to ensure that essential consumer goods, such as food, drinking water, and construction materials, are sufficiently available, do not run out, and do not hoard goods, take the opportunity to raise prices or sell at unreasonably high prices during the crisis, which will make things worse for the victims.

rdinate with wholesale and retail stores, local stores, distributors of construction materials and essential items to stock up on products sufficiently, coordinate with entrepreneurs to reduce prices of essential products after the water recedes, cooperate with wholesale and retail store entrepreneurs, local stores to help open mobile points of sale of discounted products to help alleviate suffering and reduce living costs, and support essential products to provide care, assistance and repairs to damaged homes and vehicles.
