KANCHANABURI: The Kanchanaburi Provincial Court has sentenced Mr. Preecha Kraikruan, known as “Teacher Preecha,” along with lottery vendors Ms. Rattanaporn Supathip, or “Jeab Babin,” and Ms. Patcharida Promta, or “Jeab Patch,” to two years in prison each for giving false testimony in a high-profile lottery dispute. The court’s decision came without the possibility of probation, though the sentences were later reduced to one year each due to the defendants’ confessions.
According to Thai News Agency, the case was brought to court by Pol. Lt. Charoon Wimon, also known as “Uncle Charoon,” who accused the trio of providing false testimony regarding a 30 million baht lottery ticket. Following the verdict, the defendants filed for bail to contest the ruling in the appellate court. Uncle Charoon expressed satisfaction with the verdict, noting that he did not attend the court hearing himself but was pleased with the outcome delivered by his legal team.
Uncle Charoon also mentioned plans to continue pursuing legal a
ction against Teacher Preecha and his associates in other related cases. He expressed confidence in the judicial process, highlighting that additional hearings are scheduled for March 2025. While his original lawyer, Mr. Sittha Biabangkerd, known as “Lawyer Tum,” will not be directly involved, his legal team remains committed to seeing the prosecution through to its conclusion.
