The number of people recovering from COVID-19 increased by 1,171 as of 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported.
As per data provided by the COVID-19 Task Force, the total recoveries recorded since March 2020 reached 5,881,490 on Thursday.
Central Java contributed the most recoveries at 437, followed by Jakarta (237), West Java (163), Banten (59), and East Java (47), the task force reported.
Meanwhile, Indonesia added 412 daily COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
Provinces that contributed the most additional cases were Jakarta with 113 cases, West Java 72 cases, Central Java and Banten with 41 cases each, and East Java with 27 cases.
The total number of confirmed cases since March 2020 was recorded at 6,046,072.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose by 18. Central Java contributed the most deaths at 8, followed by East Java, which recorded 3 fatalities, and Jakarta, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Kalimantan, West Sumatra, Lampung, and Central Sulawesi, which reported 1 death each.
According to the COVID-19 Task Force, the number of active cases, or patients undergoing treatment and self-isolation, reached 8,365, a decline of 777 compared to Wednesday.
In addition, 3,289 people were suspected of contracting COVID-19. The result was obtained after testing 118,266 specimens obtained from 80,969 people at hundreds of laboratories across Indonesia.
The positivity rate or the daily specimen positivity rate was recorded at 0.66 percent while the daily people positivity rate was pegged at 0.51 percent.
The task force urged people to consistently implement the health protocols, which include wearing a mask, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
