The Alumni Association of Chulalongkorn University under Royal Patronage (AAU) organized a press conference for ‘AAU
Piyamaharajanusorn 2024’ under the concept of ‘CU Power of One’, uniting the ties of Chula to share for society, and honoring the grace of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, the founder of Chulalongkorn University. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Wilers Phuriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Attaphol Rerkpiboon, President of the Alumni Association of Chulalongkorn University. Under royal patronage and Mr. Laworn Saengsanit, Chairman of the Piyamaharajanusorn 2024 Executive Committee, jointly announced at the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association, Phaya Thai Road, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok.
Prof. Dr. Wilert Phuriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, said that the Piyamaharajanusorn event is held annually to commemorate the great kindness of King Chulalongkorn, the founder of Chulalongkorn University, which is an important foundation for developing quality per
sonnel of the nation and plays an important role in national development. This is in line with Chulalongkorn’s vision to develop the university to a world-class level with the strategy of ‘Chula Power of Togetherness’, emphasizing the integration of students, lecturers, staff, alumni, international organizations, and communities, and creating networks of cooperation both domestically and internationally to make Chulalongkorn a leading university that can create value for Thai and international society through innovation development, learning, and social service, jointly creating sustainability and adapting to changes in the world in all dimensions. Therefore, the Piyamaharajanusorn event is an important activity that helps strengthen the bond between Chulalongkorn University alumni and current students towards this higher education institution, as well as being an opportunity for Chulalongkorn University students to jointly create good things for society and the country.

Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association under Royal Patronage (CUA), mentioned the importance of organizing the Piyamaharajanusorn event on October 23 of every year, which Chulalongkorn people join together to commemorate the great kindness of King Chulalongkorn, who laid the foundation for sustainable development in many dimensions, especially in education to create a learning society and develop the country. This year, Chulalongkorn people are ready to ‘join forces to unite Chulalongkorn as one’ to continue the royal intention through the event ‘Piyamaharajanusorn 2567’. Over the past year, CUA has been a part of driving Chulalongkorn to become a center connecting alumni from all generations, all professions, and current students to ‘make Chulalongkorn one’ in line with the operational vision, and to enhance participation with network members from all sectors and society to jointly develop the country and Thai society. In addition, this is a good opportunity to invite Chulalongkorn people, both alumni a
nd current students, who have faith, to join in donating to the Chulalongkorn Welfare Fund and the lunch fund to pass on opportunities to outstanding students. Have good behavior but lack financial resources, including supporting the activities of the association that are beneficial to the Chula community and society as a whole.
Mr. Laworn Saengsanit, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Piyamaharajanusorn 2024, said that the organization of Piyamaharajanusorn 2024 is to follow the royal intention of King Chulalongkorn in laying the foundation for national development for the benefit of all Thai people. This year, the event is organized under the concept of ‘CU Power of One’, uniting Chulalongkorn University to pass on for society. This is a demonstration of the power of the Chulalongkorn community, including alumni, current students, lecturers, and university personnel, who have received the royal grace of King Rama V as part of this higher education institution, resulting in love and bonding among Chulal
ongkorn University brothers and sisters, as well as being a driving force to help pass on the benefits received with their knowledge and skills to create value for society. For the morning activities, there will be a ceremony to pay homage at the royal monument of King Chulalongkorn and King Maha Vajiralongkorn in front of the Chulalongkorn University Auditorium and the equestrian statue of King Chulalongkorn, Dusit Palace Plaza. Then, in the afternoon, we received cooperation from various agencies and organizations to honor His Majesty through various activities, such as ‘CU Alumni Talk: CU Power of One: Uniting Chulalongkorn Passing on for Society’ telling stories of inspiration in continuing the royal intention to pass on benefits for the further development of society. Performances by CU Cheerleader alumni and beautiful songs by CU Band and Chula alumni artists, including fundraising activities to donate to the Chulalongkorn Welfare Fund and the lunch fund to create an educational foundation and develop q
uality of life.
