Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA) – The commemoration of the 77th anniversary of West Sumatra will feature several activities, including a leisure cycling event that will offer participants a chance of winning a free Umrah trip to the Holy Land.
“The leisure cycling will be held on Sunday (October 2, 2022), with the start at the courtyard of the West Sumatra Governor’s office building at 6:30 a.m. local time,” West Sumatra administrative Bureau Head Meifrizon informed here on Saturday.
This activity is free and open to the public. All West Sumatrans are invited to enliven the events celebrating the 77th anniversary of West Sumatra, he said.

In addition to the Umrah trip prize, the event committee will also give away one motorcycle and 50 bicycles via a lottery that will be drawn through the Kesenian Indang Minang (KIM) traditional game.
“Lottery coupons will be distributed at posts at the route points. After finishing cycling, the coupons will be drawn through the KIM game,” Meifrizon informed.
He said the route, dominated by flat roads, will start from the courtyard of the governor’s office and pass through Padang Beach, Pondok village before returning to the starting point.
In addition, an exhibition of West Sumatran micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is being held at the H. Agus Salim Sports Building (GOR) complex from September 29 to October 2. “There is also entertainment by the Slank band for the community,” Meifrizon said.
