Deputy Government Spokesperson Urges Media to Rely on Verified Sources

Bangkok: Deputy Government Spokesperson requests media cooperation in reporting news from reliable sources, fearing that fake news will not benefit Thailand in the international arena. Ms. Sasikan Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced after the Cabinet meeting that the current political and border situation, including various threats, is quite tense. She therefore requests cooperation from both Thai and international media to report news from reliable sources. She can follow news updates from Government House and the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration Center (TBSA) because there is a lot of fake news these days, some of which is not good for Thailand in the international arena.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Wattanachan emphasized the importance of accurate reporting, especially in light of the current tensions. The Deputy Spokesperson expressed concern that misinformation could adversely affect Thailand’s image and standing on the global stage. She underscored the necessity for news outlets to cross-check information with verified sources to maintain the integrity of their reporting.

Ms. Wattanachan also pointed out that the Government House and TBSA are available as reliable sources for updates on the political and border situation. By relying on these organizations, media outlets can ensure that their reports are factual and contribute positively to international perceptions of Thailand.
