Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council points out that the frequent unrest in the South is a period of transition of personnel.

Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council assesses the situation after frequent unrest, expects it may be due to the transition of local personnel, sees it as a continuous demonstration of identity.

Mr. Chatchai Bangchuad, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), said about the car bomb incident in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province last night that there has been an initial report.

As for whether it was an attempt to create a situation, since the incidents have been occurring more frequently these days, Mr. Chatchai said that there were many factors involved, but it might be a continuation of the previous incidents. He also saw it as a transitional period for the government, military, and relevant agencies, and there would be a transfer of new positions into the area, so it might be part of the cycle.

When asked if the incident was related to the news about the change of the negotiating team leader, Mr. Chatchai said that it is still unclear whether this is the i
dea or not, but he believes that it is a continuation of the incident in the area to let people know that they still exist and still want to drive certain goals.

Regarding the robbery of guns at the Hala-Bala Wildlife Sanctuary Office in Waeng District, Narathiwat Province, Mr. Chatchai noted that the area does not often have incidents and is a tourist attraction. Therefore, it must be investigated whether it was a symbolic display or not. Since the stolen weapon was a shotgun, not a weapon of war, it must be investigated further to see if it was an internal conflict, as it may be linked to several parties. He also admitted that there is a set of data indicating the possibility of an insider pointing out targets for ill-wishers to enter the area. The investigation must be expedited as soon as possible.
