Bangkok: Police take former Phra Alongkot and Dr. Bee into custody and send them to the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct, and oppose bail.
According to Thai News Agency, at approximately 10:00 a.m., investigators from the Crime Suppression Division escorted former monk Alongkot, also known as Tid George, and Mr. Seksan, also known as Dr. B, from their detention room at the Central Investigation Bureau’s Complaint Center building to be remanded at the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct.
Officers separately detained former monk Alongkot, or Tid George, wearing a brown t-shirt and dark brown shorts. He then wrapped an orange towel around his body and loaded him into a police car. Upon exiting, the monk raised his left hand. Reporters attempted to ask him questions, but he refused to answer. He then got into the car, supported by his disciples. Reporters attempted to ask him if he felt anxious or had anything to clarify, as well as his feelings after disrobing. However, the monk smiled and raised his hand in denial, refusing to answer any questions. The reporter then asked, “Are you going to court?” The monk replied simply, “To court.”
Mr. Seksan, or Dr. B, was taken into custody in a separate pickup truck belonging to the Crime Suppression Division. Dr. B was still wearing the same outfit: a cream-colored short-sleeved shirt and brown trousers. He did not answer questions from the press, only smiling.
