Doi Inthanon Experiences Temperature Drop to 10 Degrees Celsius, Attracting Tourists Despite Fog

Chiang mai: As the weather begins to cool in Chiang Mai Province, Doi Inthanon has recorded a notable temperature drop to 10 degrees Celsius, drawing tourists eager to experience the brisk conditions despite the thick fog obscuring the sunrise.

According to Thai News Agency, Doi Inthanon’s peak, located in Chom Thong district, saw temperatures decrease by an additional 2 degrees Celsius, settling at 10 degrees on a recent morning. Tourists flocked to the area, bundled in sweaters, to feel the cold wind and admire the moss and lichen-covered trees, which appeared as if wrapped in blankets. Many visitors expressed that the foggy conditions, though obstructive to sunrise views, provided a refreshing atmosphere and an opportunity to breathe in the fresh air while capturing unique images.

At the Kiew Mae Pan viewpoint, temperatures registered at 13 degrees Celsius, with the parking lot reaching full capacity. Vendors of hot food and drinks reported strong sales. Officials have requested tourists to assist in mai
ntaining the environment by taking their trash back down the mountain. They also advised that visitors should ensure both their personal readiness and vehicle suitability for the ascent. Specifically, they cautioned against using motorcycles with automatic transmissions due to the potential for brake failure.
