Dozens of broken electric poles – gas stations run out, causing great suffering for local residents

Residents of Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province are suffering after dozens of electric poles broke and the gas station ran out. Officials are working to fix the problem and restore electricity as soon as possible.

The trouble was caused by the heavy rain on October 4th, which caused flash floods and landslides, causing severe damage to the electricity transmission lines between Mae Malai District, Chiang Mai Province to Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province and Mae Sariang District to Mae Hong Son Province, making it impossible to supply electricity as usual. In addition to the widespread power outage, some gas stations in the area also ran out of fuel because the fuel trucks could not come from Chiang Mai. A fallen tree cut down the power lines in Ban Hua Nam Mae Sakut, Tambon Pha Bong, Amphoe Mueang, Mae Hong Son Province, causing the city to have no electricity. Yesterday, officials from the Mae Hong Son Provincial Electricity Authority went in to fix the system and were able to supply electricity from Kh
un Yuam District to Mae Hong Son City. They are currently working hard to fix the system so that electricity can be supplied to Mae Hong Son City as soon as possible.
