Drug network arrested, 200,000 methamphetamine pills seized


Mae Chan Police Station arrested a man driving a pickup truck carrying 200,000 methamphetamine pills, who were preparing to deliver them to a network in Chiang Rai city. Officers are working to expand the investigation and arrest other members of the gang.

Mae Chan Police Station, stationed at Tha Khao Pluek Checkpoint, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province, intercepted a drug suspect after receiving a call from Chiang Rai Provincial Police that a white pickup truck with a white cab, driven by a man, had evaded a search and fled into a village. The vehicle was hiding drugs. A search of the rear cab found 200,000 methamphetamine pills wrapped in black plastic.

The suspects were initially questioned and confessed to smuggling methamphetamine from the Mae Fah Luang border, using village roads to avoid checkpoints before being delivered to a network in Chiang Rai city to be transported to the inner city. Officers will urgently expand the investigation to arrest other members of the gang.
