Drunk Police Officer Dismissed Following Assault on Traffic Officer

San Kamphaeng: Dismissed from service: Drunk police officer physically assaults traffic police officer at San Kamphaeng Police Station while on duty. From the case of a clip of a police officer using foul language and even physically assaulting a traffic police officer at San Kamphaeng Police Station while on duty, this incident occurred on May 27, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, this incident occurred at the Ton Pao Phatthana intersection, Ton Pao sub-district, San Kamphaeng district, Chiang Mai province. The cause was a drunk police officer driving and crashing into another person’s car, causing damage. Later, a traffic police officer came to maintain order, but was verbally abused and physically assaulted. This police officer who was drunk and acting arrogant was prosecuted on four charges: 1. Driving recklessly causing damage to others, 2. Driving while intoxicated, 3. Assaulting others, and 4. Insulting an officer.

Most recently, on May 30, Pol. Maj. Gen. Worapong Khamluea, Commander of the Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 5, issued Order No. 204/2568 to temporarily suspend the aforementioned Police Sergeant Major from duty and set up a serious disciplinary investigation committee to await the results of the investigation and further disciplinary consideration.
