Laem Chabang: The Department of Special Investigation (DSI), in collaboration with the Customs Department, successfully intercepted a large shipment of smuggled e-cigarettes at Laem Chabang Port, highlighting an ongoing effort to curb illegal cigarette smuggling and distribution.

According to Thai News Agency, the Revenue Department and DSI received intelligence about the smuggling operation. They promptly coordinated with the Laem Chabang Port Customs Office to target and seize container number MRSU8500755.

On June 24, tax case officers, in conjunction with the Laem Chabang Port Customs Office, inspected the container in question. The investigation revealed over 71,000 disposable e-cigarettes, estimated to be worth approximately 14 million baht. Authorities have seized the goods and are actively pursuing individuals or entities linked to the importation for further investigation and legal proceedings until the case reaches its conclusion.
