DSI Director Confirms Samart Jenchaijitwanich’s Surrender Plan.

Bangkok: Samart Jenchaijitwanich is set to coordinate his surrender tomorrow following an arrest warrant issued for money laundering and conspiracy to launder money. Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), confirmed the development today.

According to Thai News Agency, investigators, armed with an arrest warrant from the Criminal Court dated November 24, 2024, attempted to apprehend Mr. Samart and his mother, Ms. Wilawan Phutthasamrit, on charges of money laundering and conspiracy. The operation took place in a village located on Ratchaphruek-Charan Road in Bangkok. While Mr. Samart was not present at the location, Ms. Wilawan was found and subsequently taken to the DSI for questioning.

Mr. Samart is reportedly in Chiang Mai and has communicated his intention to surrender himself to authorities tomorrow, November 26. The DSI is coordinating the surrender process, ensuring that Mr. Samart will face the charges levied against him.
