Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Bengkulu Environment and Forestry Office (DLHK) stated that 13 companies in the province received a low score from the Environment and Forestry Ministry based on their environment management performance.
The low score is based on the Environment and Forestry Ministry’s decree on companies’ performance evaluation as well as the evaluation result of companies’ waste, whether it comes in the form of liquid or gas.
“Some 13 provinces in Bengkulu received a low score from the ministry, and this result will be reported to the governor, district heads, and mayors,” Bengkulu DLHK’s official, Yanmar, noted here, Saturday.
These low score recipient companies will receive a warning letter and penalty that falls under the authority of district heads and mayors.
In addition, 49 companies in Bengkulu received a high score while the evaluation of one company, PT Bengkulu Sawit Lestari II, is still being suspended due to certain issue.
“From the 13 companies that received the low score, several companies still receive low score once again from the ministry and they most frequently came from Lebong and North Bengkulu,” Yanmar noted.
Yanmar urged all companies that received the low score to immediately improve their waste management and to not destroy and pollute their surrounding environment.
These 13 companies comprise PT BBE and PT KRU in Central Bengkulu; PT BM, PT I, PT IPKB and PT MPM in North Bengkulu; and PT SM in Kepahlang.
The others are the Bengkulu branch PT PI II and PT TLB in Bengkulu City and PT JR, PT BTL, PT MPM and PT TME in Lebong.
