More than 10 hours, a fire broke out at a plastic pellet factory in Samut Sakhon. The fire has now been brought under control, but water must still be sprayed to prevent it from flaring up again. The estimated damage is no less than 10 million baht.

From the severe fire incident at a plastic purchasing and manufacturing company in Village 4, Bang Ya Phraek Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province, late last night, Mr. Sarawit Sae Lim, Mayor of Bang Ya Phraek Subdistrict Municipality, said that the current situation is under control of the fire, but there is still smoke. Initially, officers from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Welfare and the Public Health and Environment Division of Bang Ya Phraek Subdistrict Municipality went to the area to inspect the villagers living near the factory to see if there is any impact on the public.

In addition, the damage will be surveyed. The engineering department will come down to help assess and take care of the people. As for compensation, there ha
s been no coordination with the factory, but the factory owner will be called in for discussion. As for the municipality, if there is anything we can help the people, we will help take care of the villagers to the fullest. As for the past, villagers complained about this place releasing wastewater, the municipality has received the complaint and has come down to inspect frequently, along with the province and the district chief of Samut Sakhon. There are regular inspections. As for the building, a blueprint has been requested from the municipality. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical short circuit that spread to the pile of plastic, causing it to catch fire. The estimated damages are no less than 10 million baht.
