A fire broke out in a house in the Khlong Kao Hong community in the Pracha Uthit area. The fire burned 11 cats to death and injured many more.

Reporters reported that last night, Thung Kru Police Station officers went to investigate a fire in a residential building in the Khlong Kao Hong community, Soi Pracha Uthit 90. The scene was a two-story, half-concrete, half-wooden house with a fence around it. There was a lot of flames and smoke on the second floor. Firefighters rushed to spray water to put out the fire. It took only five minutes for the fire to go out.

An inspection of the house on the second floor found dozens of cat cages arranged in rows. Inside the cages were 29 cats, and of these, 9 cats were burned to death in the house, 2 more outside, and 1 cat was seriously injured, with 12 more having burn wounds. The rest were missing. Volunteers rushed to bring the surviving cats for first aid. Some were sent to a nearby animal hospital, while the rest were awaiting observation at home.

Ms. Sirisara,
53, the cat owner, said that at the time of the incident, she was not at home, she was at work, and only her aunt was home. She keeps about 29 cats, each in a separate cage. She keeps them in a room on the second floor, and turns on a fan for the cats during the day. However, she does not know if it was due to an electrical short circuit or not. As for the cause of the fire, the police have not yet concluded the cause because they have to wait for relevant officials to come and inspect the scene in detail.
