Bangkok: A fire broke out on a tourist boat near the pier in the vicinity of the Anantara Riverside Hotel on the Thonburi side of Bangkok. Pol. Lt. Preecha Sendee, an Investigation Officer from Pak Khlong San Police Station, received the fire alert and promptly coordinated with the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to dispatch fire engines and fire boats to the scene.
According to Thai News Agency, officers from Pak Khlong San Police Station arrived to find two junk boats, which were used as tourist vessels, aflame. These boats were reportedly carrying around ten passengers who had been enjoying a meal and the riverside view. Fortunately, no one was on board when the fire erupted. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze, taking approximately 50 minutes to bring it under control.
At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Efforts are ongoing by Pak Khlong San Police Station, in collaboration with the hotel staff and security personnel, to investigate the incident and determine the fire’s origin.
