Flood relief for 70% damaged houses, 230,000 baht per house

“Jirayu” reveals that the Prime Minister has ordered all ministries to assess the water situation weekly, approving compensation for 70% damaged houses, receiving 230,000 baht per house.

Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, advisor to the Prime Minister, announced the results of the Cabinet meeting at the Narisamon Building, Government House. After the Cabinet meeting approved the resolution of the problem for the people affected by the flood in the North and Northeast, the Prime Minister urged the ministries to monitor the storm situation in the following week to prepare for it, such as the South, which will see more rain.

The Prime Minister recently established the Flood, Storm and Landslide Situation Management Committee (CSMC) and set up the Flood, Storm and Landslide Relief Operation Center (FSOC), asking that the situation be closely monitored 24 hours a day, especially for those stranded in the upper North and upper Northeast. Several ministries have proposed a total budget of 3 billion baht for flood relief measur
es. The Prime Minister stressed the reduction of paperwork, which previously required submitting documents, but will now have government agencies including the Ministry of Interior, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security go down to review and quickly conclude. If more than 70% of houses are damaged, they will receive 230,000 baht in compensation.
