Floodwaters Recede in Thung Song Municipality, Residents Begin Cleanup Efforts

Thung song: The water levels in Thung Song have started to recede, allowing villagers and shopkeepers to commence cleaning up after the recent floods. The flooding situation in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, exacerbated by three consecutive nights of heavy rain, had left Thung Song District, particularly the Thung Song Municipality, significantly inundated. Late last night, the rising waters had flooded the Nong Wa intersection, severely disrupting travel in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, while the water levels have rapidly receded this morning, the flooding persists at the Nakhon Si Thammarat Transport Office, Thung Song Branch, rendering it inoperable. In the heart of Thung Song Municipality, residents have begun the laborious task of cleaning their homes and businesses. One agricultural shop owner expressed surprise at the swiftness of the flooding, noting relief that the flooding occurred during daylight hours, which mitigated the potential damage. However, he pointed out issues with management and preparedness, emphasizing that no officials have yet addressed the situation.
