Found 16 northern highways that cars still cannot pass through.


The North is still flooded! The Highways Department summarized the flood situation on 27 Aug. 2024. 16 highways are impassable. For directions, call 1586.

The Department of Highways announced that according to the Meteorological Department’s Announcement No. 4, during 27-28 August 2024, Thailand will experience heavy rain in some areas of the northern region, upper northeastern region, eastern region, and western southern region. The Department of Highways has prepared officials to monitor the flood situation and provide assistance to those affected until the situation improves. For the flood and landslide situation on highways on 27 August 2024, it was found that 4 provinces of highways were flooded: Chiang Rai, Phrae, Uttaradit, and Sukhothai (7 routes, 18 locations). Traffic is impassable in 16 locations as follows:

Highway No. 1093 Khun Huai Khrai – Pha Tang, at km. 46+430 – 46+460 in Wiang Kaen District,

Chiang Rai Province, a landslide occurred, causing the road s

Highway No. 1093 Khun Huai Khrai – Pha Tang, km. 80+265 – 80+400 in Wiang Kaen District,

Chiang Rai Province, a landslide occurred causing the embankment to collapse. There is no alternative route.

a bridge collapsed, with no alternative route.

Highway No. 1155 Sai Kad – Ban Lung, at km. 27+400 – 27+500 in Thoeng District,

Chiang Rai Province, a landslide occurred causing the embankment to collapse. There is no alternative route.

Sukhothai Province, water level 50 cm., recommended to use the alternative route, Highway No. 101 Si Satchanalai – Mae Sin.

Sukhothai Province, water level 80 cm. It is recommended to use the alternative route, Highway No. 101 Si Satchanalai – Mae Sin.

Sukhothai Province, water level 45 cm. It is recommended to use the detour at Ko Wong Kiat Intersection and the detour at Wang Thong Subdistrict Administrative Organization Intersection.

Highway No. 1195 Tewet Nai – Wang Mai Khon, at km. 23+400 – 24+100 in Sawankhalok District,

Sukhothai Province, water level 100 cm. It is recommended to use the detour at Tha Thong Intersection and Wang Mai Khon Intersection to enter Highway 101.
