Four killed after train hits car in West Java’s Cirebon

Cirebon, W Java (ANTARA) – Four people were killed after a train hit a minibus at a railway crossing with no gate in Cirebon district, West Java Province, on Saturday night, a spokesman said.

“(As per) the information four people were pronounced dead after Argo Cheribon train hit the car,” Suprapto, spokesman for state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) for operational region (Daops) 3 Cirebon, said.

All the people killed in the accident were passengers of the minibus Xpander with police number G 1197 MG , he said.

“We have evacuated the victims but we have yet to receive data (of their identities), he said.

The accident occurred at the railway crossing between Waruduwur Station and Babakan Station in Cirebon district, West Java.

The car was dragged several meters and burst into flame, he said.
