Bangkok: “Big Kung,” a prominent figure in the Thai military, has publicly declared that frontline soldiers are ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation, emphasizing that army commanders, including himself, are fearless and committed to their duties. He reassured the public of the military’s unwavering dedication to national sovereignty during a recent event at Kasetsart University Demonstration School.
According to Thai News Agency, the event titled “Agricultural Demonstration: Unity to the Front Line, Planting Saplings in Remembrance of the Land,” featured Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the Second Army Area, and Major General Winthai Suwaree, Army Spokesperson, who delivered lectures on national sovereignty. Lt. Gen. Boonsin highlighted the importance of patriotism and morality, sharing his pride in the sacrifices made by ancestors for the land. He also discussed the ongoing tensions at the Thai-Cambodian border, where recent incidents have tested the resilience and readiness of Thai soldiers.
Lt. Gen. Boonsin recounted events at Ta Muen Thom Temple, where tensions flared between Thai and Cambodian youths, leading to military intervention. He revealed that despite challenges, the military successfully reclaimed land during conflicts, showcasing the bravery and commitment of Thai soldiers. He praised the soldiers’ high morale and readiness to defend the nation, even as some recovered from injuries.
Lt. Gen. Boonsin assured that His Majesty the King remains deeply concerned and engaged with the situation, maintaining daily communication with military leaders. He emphasized the historical role of the monarchy in leading the armed forces and reiterated the soldiers’ readiness to protect the nation.
Throughout his address, Lt. Gen. Boonsin encouraged unity and urged the public to support the military’s efforts.
