Bangkok: Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, the President of the Crime Victim Assistance Association, has reiterated his compliance with Corrections Department regulations during his visit to meet ‘Coach Lab’ at the Bangkok Special Prison, while condemning the media for disseminating what he claims to be false and damaging reports.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atchariya issued a second statement addressing allegations that he entered the prison under false pretenses, using misleading information to access the interrogation room illegally. He refuted claims that the Bangkok Special Prison was contemplating disciplinary action against him, asserting that such information purportedly came from the acting commander of the prison but was found to be untrue upon investigation.
Mr. Atchariya stressed that his entry into the prison was lawful and properly documented, countering media reports that suggested otherwise. He expressed concern over the spread of “fake news,” which he claims has led to public disdain a
nd harm to his reputation. He urged the Department of Corrections to pursue legal action should any laws have been broken on his part. Furthermore, he warned that if the media responsible for spreading these reports do not issue corrections, he would initiate legal proceedings against them.
