GH Bank Partners with Pharmaceutical Association to Offer Special Housing Loans and Savings Rates


Bangkok: GH Bank has teamed up with the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the ‘Life Begins with GHB’ project. The initiative aims to provide the association’s members with tailored financial products, including low-interest housing loans and high-yield savings accounts.

According to Thai News Agency, the collaboration unveiled the ‘Life Begins with GHB’ project which offers specialized housing loan products and special interest rate deposits. Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, President of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), and Pharmacist Thira Chakajanarodom, who leads the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand, spearheaded the agreement. The project introduces a low interest housing loan rate of 1.99% for the first year, scaling to 2.99% in the second year, 3.99% in the third year, with an average interest rate of 2.99% over the first three years. Subsequent years will follow the bank’s minimum retail rate less 0.50% for retail customers and le
ss 1.00% for welfare customers.

The program also includes the ‘GHB Welfare Savings’ with an interest rate of up to 1.85% per year for deposits not exceeding 10 million baht. The interest is not subject to income tax and is credited monthly. Eligibility for these rates is available to members of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand who complete transactions by December 30, 2024.

Pharmacist Thira Chakajanarodom expressed gratitude towards GH Bank for enabling over 8,300 pharmacists to access these financial products, which he described as vital in helping medical personnel achieve homeownership and save effectively. He encouraged eligible pharmacists to obtain membership proof from the Pharmaceutical Association’s website to avail of the benefits offered under the ‘Life Begins with GHB’ project.
