Government to Embrace AI in Public Relations to Highlight Key Achievements

Bangkok: The government is preparing to announce its performance and leverage artificial intelligence to enhance communication strategies. Dr. Phrommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, emphasized the significance of showcasing the administration’s successes in suppressing call centers and e-cigarettes, and advancing the 20-baht electric train system across all lines.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Prommin revealed these details following a meeting with the Committee on Government Policy Monitoring and Prime Ministerial Orders. The meeting, attended by Mrs. Natjaree Anantasilpa, Secretary-General to the Cabinet Committee, along with various agency representatives, focused on compiling the government’s achievements for public announcement. Key accomplishments included the suppression of call centers, drug-related offenses, and e-cigarettes. Dr. Prommin acknowledged the need to adjust public relations efforts to better align with public interests, incorporating AI to facilitate communication.

Dr. Prommin highlighted the importance of presenting AI as a crucial policy. He explained that an AI committee, with experts and private sector collaboration, aims to maximize public benefit from AI advancements. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, alongside the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, will collaborate on this initiative. Discussions with the private sector are scheduled to explore AI’s potential public advantages.

Regarding public relations strategies, Dr. Prommin stated that efforts will focus on delivering messages that resonate with the public. He noted that while significant work has been done, such as the 20-baht flat-rate train project and the “You Fight, We Help” initiative, these efforts require time to navigate legal processes and achieve expansion. The government aims to communicate these projects effectively to ensure public satisfaction.

Addressing the entertainment complex initiative, Dr. Prommin clarified that the government continues to inform the public about the project’s objectives. Contrary to misconceptions of it being a casino, the complex aims to generate income by attracting foreign investments and subsequently benefit the public. This ongoing communication effort seeks to clarify the project’s purpose and potential impact.
