GTK Award reflects gov’t appreciation for teachers: official

The 2022 Teachers and Education Personnel (GTK) Award is a form of government appreciation for teachers and educators, especially those who have implemented innovative differentiated learning or instructions in learning processes.

“We want to give motivation so that (teachers) can increase their achievement and performance,” Coordinator of the Regulation, Governance Transformation, and Assessment of Secondary and Special Education Teacher Human Resources Working Group of the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry, Renny Yunus, explained here on Wednesday.

The ministry opened registrations for the 2022 GTK Award on September 19 and will close them on October 22. Teachers and educational personnel applying for the award need to upload short videos on the good practices in differentiated learning that they have adopted along with a minimum 1,500-word and maximum 2,000-word inspirational video script via the gtk.kemdikbud.go.id/apresiasigtk webpage.

The award is being held to celebrate National Teachers’ Day on November 26. The selected inspirational teachers will be invited to the Summit of the 2022 National Teacher’s Day commemoration.

Yunus said that her party will select high school, vocational high school (SMK), and special school (SLB) teachers who have implemented inspirational and differentiated learning. Meanwhile, teachers and education staff at other school levels will be chosen through each related directorate.

According to her, only a few participants have submitted their videos through the page.

“To this day, those who have registered are quite a lot, but (many) have not submitted the video, (those who have) are still less than 100 people,” she revealed.

Similarly, the working group’s sub-coordinator, Mora Baringin, said that there are still many participants who have not completed the “temporary file” requirement though the registration will close soon.

“We want to encourage the participants to immediately complete the (required) file about the good practices carried out in differentiated learning,” Baringin added.
