Half-Half Travel Thailand Opens Registration for Entrepreneurs

Bangkok: Half-Half Travel Thailand is now open for registration for entrepreneurs, marking the first day of the initiative on June 17, 2025. Mr. Surawong Thienthong, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, announced the commencement of the registration process for tourism entrepreneurs under the Half-Half Thailand project. The registration for individuals who wish to participate in the project is scheduled for next week. The project’s funding awaits the approval of the Economic Stimulus Policy Committee and the Cabinet. However, in anticipation of a smooth operation, the registration has been initiated, allowing the project to commence on July 1, 2025, once funds are secured.

According to Thai News Agency, the Half-Half Thailand travel project has allocated 500,000 travel support rights for government assistance, providing up to 3,000 baht per room per night for hotels and accommodations, with a total budget of 1,780 million baht. The government will cover 50% of the expenses for hotels, accommodations, and restaurants, similar to previous schemes, with the exception of airline ticket usage. Confirmation has been given that the project is set to launch in July.

The project’s structure is divided into two types: for trips to major cities, the government will cover 40% of the cost, while individuals will pay 60%. For trips to secondary or attractive cities, the government and individuals will split the costs equally. Additionally, for weekday travel from Monday to Friday, the government will contribute 50%, and individuals will pay the remaining 50%. However, for travel on weekends and public holidays, the government’s contribution will be 40%, with individuals covering 60%. Digital coupons will also be available for use in restaurants, souvenir shops, OTOP shops, and tourist attractions, with the coupon value yet to be confirmed.
