Harrow School opens campus in Hainan Free Trade Port to explore the cultivation of talents for the new era

“The Best House of the International Week is the Rudolf House!”

Recently, surrounded by cheering classmates, Emma, head of the Rudolf House at Harrow Haikou, delivered her appreciation speech naturally and gracefully with a smile on her face.

Harrow School is the birthplace of the “House system” that also inspired the House system in the famous fantasy world of Harry Potter. Harrow Haikou has inherited this long-lasting tradition. Located in Haikou City, which is in the northern part of Hainan — China’s largest free trade port, Harrow Haikou is the first renowned brand of international education in the city. The school covers a total construction area of 75,000 square meters and includes Harrow Innovation Leadership Academies Haikou, Harrow International Schools, and Harrow-Little Lions Childhood Development. Harrow Haikou can support up to 1,800 students, including 220 boarding school students. The whole Harrow Haikou system consists of full-time schools and boarding schools from kindergarten to high school.

Just a year ago, Emma was studying in a public school in Guangxi, China. Under the public school model of education, she felt that she had no chance to excel. As the pressure in her studies kept piling up on her, Emma became increasingly anxious. Emma’s parents decided to change environments so that she could better develop her personality and hobbies.

Since Emma started to study at Harrow Haikou, she has discovered many exciting courses to choose from. Without excessive exams and heaps of homework, she can now allocate more time to her hobbies and better develop her all-around capabilities. She has adapted to this new mode that focuses on self-discipline in learning and comprehensive development. For this reason, she is now more confident and happy.

Emma is just one of the students in Harrow Haikou that expects to make a change. Since Harrow Haikou officially open its doors in September 2020, it has attracted over 300 students like Emma from around the world to learn and live here.

As a well-known private school in the UK, Harrow Haikou excels with its unique experience and advantages in training students to be high-end talents. Seven British Prime Ministers are Harrow School alumni. As the fifth Harrow International School in Asia, Harrow Haikou is imbued with the same spirit as that of the Harrow School in the UK and is committed to cultivating students into outstanding talents with diverse strengths and powerful leadership skills.

Harrow Haikou is currently composed of Harrow International Schools and Harrow Innovation Leadership Academies which provide comprehensive education for kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, and high school. Harrow International Schools provide international courses to students with foreign passports (please note that at least one parent of each student is required to hold a foreign passport or Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card). Harrow Innovation Leadership Academies sets no limitations on the nationality of students and parents or household registration and will provide courses with Harrow characteristics under China’s laws and regulations and national curriculum standards.
