Heavy rain in the “Northeast-East-West Coast of the South”


The Meteorological Department reported heavy rain in some areas of Thailand and very heavy rain in some areas of the Northeast, East and the West Coast of the South. Beware of flash floods and forest runoff. Bangkok and its vicinity have thunderstorms in 60% of the area.

Meteorological Department: Monsoon trough extends across the lower northern and upper northeastern regions, entering a low-pressure cell along the coast of central Vietnam. In addition, the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand has begun to strengthen to quite strong. This condition will cause some areas of Thailand to experience heavy rain and some areas in the northeastern, eastern, and western southern regions to experience very heavy rain. People in the aforementioned areas should beware of the dangers of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides, near waterways, and lowlands.

an Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, they are quite strong with waves 2-3 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 3 meters. In the lower Gulf of Thailand, the waves are approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the aforementioned areas are asked to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should refrain from leaving the shore during this period.

Northeastern region: Thunderstorms in 70 percent of the area and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas in the provinces of Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamp
hu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 29-34 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.

Central region: Thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area and heavy rain in some areas of Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Minimum temperature 23-25 ??degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 33-35 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.

Eastern region: Thunderstorms in 70 percent of the area and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 30-34 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Waves in the sea 2-3 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 3 meters.

Southern region (east coast): Thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area and heavy
rain in some areas of Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla. Minimum temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 33-35 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Waves in the sea are approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 2 meters.

Southern region (West coast): Thunderstorms in 80 percent of the area and heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 23-25 ??degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 28-31 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Waves in the sea 2-3 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves higher than 3 meters.

Bangkok and its vicinity: 60% chance of thunderstorms and heavy rain in some areas. Minimum temperature 25-27 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature 32-35 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.
