Hmong entrepreneur diversifies his income in Dien Bien province


Mua A Giang, a Hmong ethnic living in Nam Chim 1, Si Pa Phin commune, Nam Po district, Dien Bien province transformed his life by agricultural diversification. He changed the sole production of rice crop to a variety of other farming and non-farming options including: freshwater fish farming, passion fruit growing, poultry and livestock farming. Utilising these diverse production methods, his household earned a profit of 100 – 130 million VND (3,942 – 5125 USD) each year, becoming an outstanding model of economic development in Nam Po district.
