Bangkok: iBank has initiated a new feature that allows users to scan and transfer money through its iBank Application, branded as “Use = Give.” Each transaction contributes to donations for the Humanitarian Aid Network Council, Office of the Chularatchamontri, commemorating its 10th anniversary. Islamic Bank of Thailand (iBank), led by Dr. Thaweelap Ritthaphirom, Director and Manager, joined with executives to celebrate this milestone in collaboration with Muslim Thai Post and other partner organizations.
According to Thai News Agency, the event aims to foster cooperation and awareness, sharing insights from a decade of humanitarian efforts. Scheduled for November 1-3, 2024, at the Plaza Indoor Stadium in Huamark, Bangkok, the gathering will set the stage for future humanitarian missions locally and internationally. Notably, bank directors and managers were honored with plaques for their contributions, presented by General Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council, and Mr. Arun Bunchom, the Chularat
chamontri.
The ‘Use = Give’ initiative encourages users to engage in charitable activities through everyday transactions. Customers and merchants using the iBank application can generate QR codes for self-service money transfers. For transactions within the iBank network, the bank donates 1 baht per transaction, while transfers to other banks result in a donation of 25 satang per transaction.
The initiative extends until December 31, 2024, with a special focus on the 10th-anniversary event. During this period, any scan or transfer from a bank application to a participating iBank merchant account will generate a 1 baht donation per transaction. This initiative aims to increase societal contributions through regular financial activities.
