Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) highlighted that the National Capital, or IKN Nusantara, has the potential for extensive business cooperation with banks in supporting the new national capital through ease of financial transactions.”The Nusantara Capital City has quite extensive business potential, so there are opportunities for cooperation that can be carried out not only by banks, such as Bank Mandiri, but also with Mandiri’s subsidiaries in supporting the development of the new capital city,” Secretary of OIKN Achmad Jaka Santos stated in Jakarta, Friday. Santos remarked that OIKN signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on banking services and a cooperation agreement with Bank Mandiri as one of the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the banking sector in order to facilitate financial transactions for both the retail community and institutions. The inked MoU is the initial basis for the preparation of further cooperation agreement. The MoU can cover the various interests of both parties. Banking SOEs can synergize with OIKN in realizing the Nusantara Capital City as a symbol of national identity, green economy and energy, smart transportation, and efficient and effective governance as the great transformation of the Indonesian nation. The cooperation is a form of support for the government’s program towards a cashless society where the use of supply money is no longer entirely cash. “We hope Mandiri can become a government institution with a new, different model and become a leader in the government agency sector in terms of service, competence, and in terms of performance produced in managing a capital city,” Santos remarked. Meanwhile, Director of Mandiri Institutional Relations Rohan Hafas expressed hope that this synergy would be the start of a sound collaboration. “We hope to be the start for better collaboration and to become Bank Mandiri’s commitment to provide best and excellent service in supporting banking service needs, not only to OIKN, as a state institution, but also to all OIKN employees,” Hafas remarked.
