Jakarta The Health Ministry recorded that the daily COVID-19 recoveries had reached 61,361 on Friday, the highest since the start of the pandemic, according to the ministry’s COVID-19 vaccination spokesperson, Siti Nadia Tarmizi.
In a written statement on Friday, Tarmizi noted that this recovery figure surpasses the previous record of 48,832 people on August 6, 2021.
Meanwhile, the daily case count on Friday recorded a decline to reach 49,447 as compared to 57,426 people on the previous day.
Meanwhile, the trend of COVID-19 patient treatment in hospitals was pegged at 37 percent from the total national capacity. It decreased by one percent as compared to 38 percent on the previous day.
This figure has been relatively stable for the last five days since February 20, 2022.
“Today, we record that several pandemic handling indicators show a positive figure, starting from the recovery rate to daily cases and the treated COVID-19 patient figure,” she noted.
However, she urged people to not let their guard down. This positive development regarding COVID-19 handling should be bolstered even further to immediately break the COVID-19 infection chain in Indonesia.
“For us, the government, we continue to strive to reduce the case count and strengthen health services,” she affirmed.
The declining trend of COVID-19 patient treatment is also followed by the downward trend in the positivity rate in several regions on February 15-24, 2022.
According to the ministry’s data, on February 15-24, Jakarta’s positivity rate decreased, from 17.5 percent on February 15 to 16 percent on February 24.
