ITE 2022 momentum to grow smart cities in Indonesia: Ministry

The Ministry of Home Affairs is optimistic that the 2022 Integrated Technology Event (ITE) will be a momentum to grow the smart city concept throughout Indonesia.

“We hope the number is not just 10 or 20, but all cities in Indonesia (become) smart cities,” Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs Safrizal stated here on Wednesday.

Safrizal is optimistic that the event would be a turning point for optimizing planning, implementation, and control in urban management in order to realize effective and efficient urban services.

Safrizal remarked that the event was implemented as an international technology forum and expo for sectors based on information and communication technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), as well as to meet information and business needs related to solutions and provision of smart city.

“This event aims to support clean water management and technology systems, waste management, and intelligent transportation systems,” he remarked.

The ITE 2022, which was physically held, comprised the Indo Water, Indo Waste, and Indo Energy Exhibitions, as well as the Indonesia International Smart City (IISMEX) 2022 Expo & Forum. The event will take place on October 5-7, 2022, at JCC, Jakarta.

The ITE 2022 also involves over 200 exhibitors from 19 countries, with an estimated visitor count of over 10 thousand people.

In addition to the exhibition, the ITE 2022 event initiates professional forums that will connect the central government, regional heads, governors, mayors, and regents with solution technology players and references from various experts and practitioners.
